Maree Conway runs Thinking Futures, a strategic foresight practice that helps people co-create shared futures to ensure organisations are future ready.
Maree works primarily with people in organisations and professional associations who are ready to move beyond business-as-usual thinking to build robust and sustainable strategy for the future. She uses a unique conversations about the future framework to build individual and collective futures agency in organisations so strategy can achieve social impact today.
Before establishing Thinking Futures in 2007, Maree was a successful tertiary education manager for almost 30 years, working in management, policy, planning and strategy roles in universities, TAFE institutes and colleges of advanced education. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Griffith University, a Masters in Educational Administration (Honours) from the University of New England, and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Foresight from Swinburne University of Technology. Since 1999, Maree has facilitated and managed strategy projects in a number of universities and TAFE institutes, and has facilitated scenario and strategic planning workshops in the UK, Australia and New Zealand for universities, professional associations, non-profits, government departments and business organisations.
Maree is a regular presenter on changing the way we think about the future at conferences and seminars in Australia and internationally. She is on the editorial board of the Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management and On The Horizon, and published her first book Foresight Infused Strategy: A How-To Guide for Using Foresight in Practice.
