Scenario Thinking
Exploring possibilities is often achieved by a process called scenario thinking.
- Scenario thinking is a form of strategic foresight in which organizations consider a variety of possible or probable futures. Scenarios are not forecasts or predictions. Rather, they are descriptions of potential events and their likely impact on an organization. Scenarios are typically used as a basis for long-term strategy development. More here on how ST works.
- Strategies. Strategic thinking is a type of critical thinking that focuses on the analysis of factors and variables that will influence the long-term success of your business, a team, a family, or an individual and involves seeing the big picture, and choices before planning ahead, and putting thought into action. Strategic thinking requires the formulation of several strategies to achieve your vision of your future before deciding on the best moves to make. Just like playing chess!
