Tito’s partners with Flemingo for Africa expansion

Tito’s Handmade Vodka will make its debut in the African duty-free industry this month after partnering with Flemingo International to secure listings at key airport locations on the continent.

The American vodka brand has said it will be listed at key airports in Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia and Burundi as part of the partnership with Flemingo International, as well as a diplomatic store in Burundi and at seaports in Ghana.

On top of this, Flemingo International will distribute Tito’s to other airport retail operators in the likes of Kenya, Ethiopia and DR Congo.

Emerging markets “great opportunities”

Flemingo International category head Mukesh Khetle said: “There is a great opportunity for brands like Tito’s to establish themselves in emerging markets across Africa, as economies and consumer interest grow. Tito’s is in a great position to appeal to shoppers, as it represents quality at an affordable price point.”

Tito’s International managing director John McDonnell added: “Tito’s journey continues with its debut in Africa travel retail, having secured this crucial partnership with Flemingo International.

“Africa is an important market as it grows economically and attracts tourists from around the world. We aim to be available in all key airports this year and, in terms of Africa’s emerging markets, expect the brand’s positive performance in similar markets elsewhere to be mirrored here.”

Sites in Africa that Tito’s has said it will be listed at include Maputo International airport in Mozambique; Entebbe International airport in Uganda; Kigali International airport in Rwanda; Lusaka International airport, Livingstone International airport and Ndola International airport in Zambia; Bujumura Diplomatic Duty Free Store and Bujumura International airport in Burundi; and Tema Seaport and Takoradi Seaport in Ghana.
