ICPAC has warned of a high likelihood-over 70% - of rainfall exceeding 300 mm in parts of western Kenya, southern Uganda, much of Rwanda and Burundi, and northwestern Tanzania.

Burundi, Kenya, and Uganda are already in their planting season, while Seychelles and Somalia are expected to begin in April-May, followed by Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Sudan in June-July.
