Trend Alert: Paper, my part in its downfall!
In-built-RFID tracking, digital and multi-use pens, musical paper and ultra secure manifestations are just some of the new technologies which suggest that paper will become a specialist rather than ubiquitous form of communication.
And we can expect to see the same changes adopted in most business practices worldwide as organisations strive to reduce waste on all fronts. Even lawyers are moving from paper to electronic discovery, albeit slowly. Given the enormous savings in time, space and efficiency, all it takes is a concerted effort to make paper a thing of the past.
I say 'hallelujah' to the new freedom of having an office that is almost totally paperless except for the thousands of old family history documents that I have in my collection. But even these are all digitised in my electronic family tree - though I haven't yet found the the will to junk them. Not yet, at least.
But the next move may well be their final journey!
