'Scan' is an intelligence service that alerts people and organisations to potentially changing paradigms and helps them respond early, rather than react late, to rapidly changing conditions beyond their own industries.

From our continuous scan for fresh 'Insights' on 'what's changing' in business, economics, the environment, healthcare, industry, lifestyles, politics, society and technology users are better forewarned of potential opportunities and risks.

Citations:
Users have access to over 50,000 hand-selected and eclectic public Insights, including our own tagging of cited sources, actors, key authors, key organisations, keywords and countries. They can quickly create a 360 degree tag cloud of emerging change. From this tag cloud users can explore an issue in more detail through a site wide search, a web search, a blog search, a news search and/or a patent search.

Collaborate: Users can add their own comments and tags, print pages and add their own Insights making these available on our public site, to share only with their associates or to retain for their private use. They can view all publicly available Members' Insights or search by topic. We use tagging to both provide separate databases for client teams and to aggregate user tags to team and client level.

Analyse: Includes the ability to view Insights as lists, maps, tables, graphical timelines and 360 degree tag clouds. Visualisations include:

• a 360 degree view of an issue,
• a timeline analysis,
• latest (and first) mentions of citations
• a key source analysis
• a global map of emerging change by country

Special collections also slice the Insights database providing a fast way to see change from different perspectives. Users can concentrate their efforts e.g. by signal strength, timeframe, industry, age group, or region ....

Where an Insight contains inherent 'trends' (trends, uncertainties or wild cards) these are displayed and clickable to the Strategic Thinking service below.

Search:
Searching Insights uses a simple Boolean algorithm leading to more refined options. Refining a search offers an advanced multi-tag facility and searching by timeline, date range, a site wide search, a web search, a blog search, a news search and/or a patent search, and a Google Trends search.
